MULTI-ACT presentation at EAN Virtual Congress 2020

Due to COVID-19, the 6th Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), due to be held on 23-26 May 2020, will be held virtually for the first time ever. Participation will be free of charge for all.

MULTI-ACT will be presented during the Scientific Theatre sessions, with a focus on patient engagement. Prof. Mario Battaglia (Chair of the Italian MS Society Foundation) will be presenting the MULTI-ACT Patient Engagement Guidelines at 12:00 on 25 May 2020.

Further details of how to view the online presentation on the day will be shared when finalized. Below a short abstract of the presentation:

Engaging patients in Multi-stakeholder Research Initiatives

The thinking that underlines Patient Engagement in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) argues that excellence, validity and relevance are connected by engaging patients and society in the research continuum as key stakeholders. To enable patients as key stakeholders, Multi-Stakeholder Research Initiatives are encouraged to apply the MULTI-ACT Governance and Co-accountability framework (MULTI-ACT Collective Research Impact Framework). The newly developed MULTI-ACT Patient Engagement Guidelines will enable stakeholders to apply science “with” and “of” patient input to capture patients’ experiential knowledge and to measure the impact of research on outcomes that matter most to them.
